I hope this message finds you well. I have decided to run for the position of City Councillor in the upcoming election for the City of Gosnells. This decision stems from my deep commitment to our community and my desire to serve and represent our collective interests.
Over the past 16 years, I have been actively engaged with the city council, city facilities and sports grounds. This experience has given me insight into the needs of our residents and inspired me to contribute even more as a City Councillor. As a candidate, I pledge to prioritize the needs and concerns of Gosnells residents.

Background as a Candidate and Community Member

Mohammod Monsor has been a proud resident of Canning Vale in the City of Gosnells since migrating to Perth in 2003. With over 20 years of residency, he has been instrumental in organizing sporting and multicultural social events that have fostered strong bonds among diverse community groups in Gosnells and the wider Australian community.

He is an award-winning volunteer and current president Thornlie Junior Cricket Club and also working closely and collaborating with WA Cricket. Monsor is also a founding vice-president of the Perth Bengal Club Inc. (established in 2013). His efforts in social work and sports organization have greatly enhanced community cohesion.

Monsor is the chairman of the multicultural cricket competition name ‘Perth All Nations Cup’T20’, this event is stablished by Monsor 12 years before and run by Perth Bengal Club Inc, PBC, which is now the biggest winter flagship cricket event in Perth metro where more than 1000 cricket players participate every year.

Professional Career:

Mohammod,47, (Microsoft-certified IT professional), holds a Master’s degree in Information Management System from Edith Cowan University. He is currently works as a consultant / Software Test Engineer in the software development industry. With a robust work ethic and 16 years of professional experience both in Government and Private sectors, Mohammod has demonstrated exceptional management and leadership skills—qualities that he aims to bring with him as a Councillor candidate.

My Goals as Councillor Candidate:
  1. Optimal Use of Rate Payers’ Money, Review of Development Projects and Initiatives: Ensuring that public funds are used effectively and efficiently for community development.
  2. Building an Active, Sporty, Safe, Inclusive, and Digitally Engaged Modern Community: Monsor focuses on creating a vibrant, connected community through sports and digital platforms.
  3. Enhancing Social Security and Policing: Working on initiatives to increase safety and security within the community.
  4. Launching social awareness campaigns to reduce domestic violence and promoting initiatives through sports and digital engagement to improve health and encourage an active lifestyle.
  5. Upgrading Lighting in Sporting Grounds and Parks (in collaboration with sports clubs): Working with local sports clubs to improve lighting in community spaces.
  6. Securing more funding for Security Cameras: Obtaining financial support to install security cameras for better surveillance and community safety.
  7. Focusing on Multicultural Initiatives: Promoting programs and events that celebrate and integrate the diverse cultures within the community.
  8. Listening to the Public, Establishing a Regular Fortnightly Public Engagement Forum and Feedback Sessions.
  9. Creating platforms for ongoing public engagement and feedback to ensure community needs and concerns are addressed.
  10. Bringing People Together Through the Universal Language of Sports: Utilizing sports as a medium to enhance community ties and promote inclusiveness.
